  • brief overview of the history of astrology

  • reintroducing ourselves to earth & starry sky

2. the planets

  • essential significations of the planets

  • inner planets, social planets, outer planets

3. the signs

  • zodiac signs through elements, modalities, & planetary rulership

  • planetary dignity & debility through the signs

4. the houses

  • the houses as angular, succedent, and cadent

  • topical meanings of the houses

  • the house system debate & whole sign houses

5. condition & strength

  • essential & accidental dignity

  • angularity

  • retrogradation

  • visibility

6. aspects & configurations

  • major aspects as relationships of sight

  • whole-sign vs degree-based aspects

  • application and separation of aspects

7. synthesis framework

  • we’ll work through my step-by-step methodology for approaching a birth chart

8. practice charts

  • we’ll apply the techniques we’ve learned to the timed charts of indigenous people, including ramona bennett (puyallup), trixie mattel (ojibwe), and kinsale drake (dine)
